In this electronic day and age, and with the success of online projects like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Jellaby, and Copper, I thought it was time to show the Internet world an idea that I have had rumbling around upstairs for a while. Now, I don’t have the artistic abilities of Zazu Kibuishi (Copper) or Kean Soo (Jellaby), but I’m still going to bust out the drawing pad and give it a try, with my story, How I Became a Superhero, being a cross between a comic and a novel. And I’ll presented it somewhat like serial novels of old: a piece at a time.
On the site, I will also be publishing fan stories about how other people became superheros. Here’s what you do if you want to submit your story:
- Discover what your superpower is
- Decide whether you’ll use it for good and be a superhero or use it for evil and become a supervillain
- Then, on a 8 1/2″ X 11″ sheet of paper, either draw a one-page comic or write a one-page story about how you obtained your superpower (it must not be offensive or overly violent if you want it to be posted on the site; some editing on my part may take place to make it suitable.)
- Email your comic (as a .jpg or .pdf file) or your story (as a .doc or .txt file) to hibash@bahoena.com
- With your submission, please include your name, age, and email address
Go to How I Became a Superhero to read the story about how I became a superhero, and let the adventure begin . . .
